Oil Immersion Heaters are designed for direct contact heating of fluid. They are immersed in oil to be heated and hence heat transfer efficiency is at its optimal. Oil Immersion heater also known as Storage Heater or Tank Heater as they are used in storage tanks to heat the oil to desired temprature to make it pumpable.
Immersion Heaters are also known as Mat or Floor Heaters and are used to maintain or raise the temperature of liquids in tanks or process vessels. These have to be installed at a level below the outlet of the tank / vessel so that the heaters is fully submerged in the liquid at all times.
Tristar Immersion Heaters are available in Tubular as well as cartridge type. Within tubular we have a range of tube diameters to suit your application watt density, similarly in cartridge type we can provide Open Bobbin type or SS Sheath cartridge type.
Tristar Heaters are available in various mounting options– Threaded Screw plug , Over the Side, Flange – Standard and customised.

Threaded Screw plug immersion heaters consist of tubular elements brazed or welded to the plug/ tube sheet. They are screwed to a coupling welded on the tank or to the threaded opening in the tank wall.
Tubular heaters are efficient as they ensure 100% of heat generated is transfered to the fluid immersed in. The heating elements are tubular which can be of various diameters and lengths based on the applciation equirement.
Standard Sizes available are 2", 2 1/" and 3". Flame Proof Terminal box can also be supplied for use in Hazardous areas.

We manufacture Flame Proof Heaters to be used in Hazardous areas with explosion proof Terminal box and Junction box. For smaller sizes upto 3" Flange / BSP Threading only terminal boxes are provided, for bigger sizes Terminal box and junction box both are provided.

MOC of the Sheath pipe we provide is SS 304 / 316 on request we can provide Incoloy or Titanium.

Bobbin Heater are inserted in Tube or Casing pipe and used for indirectly heating products. These offer a large heating area to the liquid or semi-solid to be heated. Material such as oil, wax, fats and bitumen require low heater surface temperature to prevent product degradation. For these applications the Ceramic Bobbin heater is ideal.
A Feature of this type of heater is that it may be removed for repair or replacement without draining the contents of the vessel.
In this kind of heaters the elements / insulators are made from typical properties of ceramics such as cordierite, steatite and etc. These have excellent physical, thermal & electrical properties. Tristar make cartridge heaters are designed for low watt density, by keeping the watt density low the life of the heaters is improved. Another advantage of low watt density is the product to be heated is not charred or burnt becuase of instant excess heat.
We manufacture Cartridge elements of sizes 32 mm Dia to 80 mm. The resistance wire is inserted into Bobbins of various sizes and these are then inserted in to SS Tubes which are filled with MGO Powder and sealed.
